Booking Information
How will I know my reservation is confirmed?

At the end of the reservation process you will receive a confirmation email containing the details of your reservation and information on the collection procedure.

Can I extend the rental duration?

It may be possible to extend the rental. You will need to contact us on 1800 815 590. Any extensions are subject to vehicle availability and additional payment at the time of request.

What are the full terms and conditions that apply to my booking?

Is it possible to cancel or modify my reservation?

Can I return my vehicle early?

You may return the vehicle early however refunds may or may not be given depending on the circumstances.

Can I drop my vehicle to a different location?

We do not offer one way rentals.

Driver Requirements
What is the age requirements to rent a vehicle?

You must hold a full and valid driver’s licence to hire a vehicle (no learners or provisional driver’s licences are accepted). Hirers aged between 21 and 24 (inclusive) will be subject to higher deposits and insurance.

Drivers 75 and over must provide a medical certificate stating they can drive and hold a current and valid licence. We do not hire to drivers under 21.

Can I use a digital driver's licences?

Yes, we accept digital driver’s licence. You will need to email us a copy for insurance purposes.

Can I use an international driver's licence?

Any licence provided must be in English and include a photo. If your driver’s licence is in any language other than English, it must be accompanied by an approved translation such as an International Driving Permit.

An International Driving Permit is not a stand-alone document and must be carried with your valid domestic driver’s licence.

Who can drive the rental vehicle?

All people wishing to drive the vehicle must be listed on the rental agreement. If you wish to add a driver after collecting the vehicle, please contact us on 1800 815 590

Can I pick up or return a vehicle out of operating hours?

If you need to pick-up or return outside of operating hours please contact us on 1800 815 590 for assistance.

Can I get a shuttle bus from the airport?

Shuttle pick up and drop offs are available during business hours. Once you book, all relevant information will be forwarded via email. Infants and children that require car seats cannot be transported on our shuttle buses.

Fines, Other Fees and Charges
What happens if I receive an infringement whilst renting?

If you receive any traffic infringements during the rental period these will be nominated to you via statutory declaration. It is then your responsibility to make payment.

Protection and Coverage
Can I reduce my excess?

We offer different packages to reduce your standard excess. These can be added when booking the vehicle or at collection.

Other Questions
Can I park my own vehicle at your office whilst renting?

Unfortunately, we do not allow other vehicles to be left on our premises.

Do I need to clean the vehicle?

Vehicles are to be returned in a clean and tidy condition. If the vehicle is excessively dirty, has been smoked in or carried any animals, a cleaning fee of $200 will apply.

What if I’ve left something in the vehicle?

Please contact us as soon as possible. We will search for your lost property and advise if it is held.

If you would like the property returned, you will either need to arrange for someone to collect it or send us a prepaid envelope/postage label. Please be aware MYUTE Rentals is not responsible for any property left in the vehicle.

Payments, Fees and Deposits
When will my deposit be released?

We release the deposit as soon as the vehicle is returned (as long as all rental terms have been met and there is no damage to the vehicle). It is then up to your bank to release the deposit. This process can take up to 7 business days depending on your bank.

How can I pay for my reservation?

There are a number of options including prepayment or paying at the counter. Please be aware that even if the booking is prepaid you must present a credit card at the time of collection and pay the applicable deposit. All charges will be in Australian dollars. We can not accept responsibility for the fluctuating currency conversion if monies outside of AUD are used.

Will I be charged a deposit?

A deposit is applicable to all rentals. The deposit applicable depends on the age of the driver. Deposits range from $200-$500 for all vehicles.

Will I be charged a cancellation fee?

Cancellation fee may be charged.

What are the credit card requirements?

Deposit payment

  • A valid Visa, Mastercard or American Express credit card must be supplied at collection.
  • You must present the physical card.
  • The card must be in the name of the hirer.
  • If you cannot present a card in the hirers name, please contact us for assistance.
  • We do not accept gift cards, travel cards, EFTPOS cards, or Diners.

Booking payment

  • We accept Visa, Mastercard or Amercian Express credit or debit cards, EFTPOS and Visa/Mastercard travel cards for the booking payment.
  • We do not accept gift cards or Diners.
  • *Please note credit card surcharges may apply to your booking.
Vehicles and Driving
Can I request a specific make or model of vehicle?

Due to the large number of makes and models in our fleet we cannot guarantee a specific vehicle but we will do our best to fulfill your request. All vehicles in the same class are similar in size and passenger capabilities.

Can I take my pets in the vehicle?

Unfortunately, we do not allow animals to be transported in our vehicles. A Cleaning Fee of $200 will apply if any animal fur or odours are detected in the vehicle.

Can I smoke in the vehicle?

All our vehicles are non-smoking. A cleaning fee of $200 applies to any vehicles which have been smoked in.

Can I take the vehicles off road?

Our vehicles are not permitted to be used on un-sealed roads.

Can I drive the vehicle anywhere in Australia?

MYUTE Vehicles can only be driven within 400kms of Townsville.

Do I need to re-fuel the vehicle and what fuel should I use?

All vehicles should be provided to you with a full tank of petrol. Please return the vehicles to us the same. A refuelling fee of $4.00 per litre applies (minimum charge of $20). For the correct fuel types please refer to the inner flap of the fuel cover or key tag.

Can I use the vehicle to tow?

Only our utes have towbars which are allowed for small trailers. We don’t allow Caravans or Car Trailers to be towed. Contact our office on 1800 815 590 for assistance.

Roadside Assistance and Damages
What should I do if I am involved in a collision during the rental?

Firstly, ensure the safety of all passengers in the vehicle and any other individual involved. Check if you need to report the accident to Police. It is important to collect the details of all parties involved, including the driver licence details, vehicle registration/s, details of the accident and any witness details. If possible, please take a photograph of any relevant details such as the driver licence of all drivers, evidence of the accident including damage to the vehicles.

Please report the issue to us as soon as possible so we can assist you. Contact our office on 1800 815 590 for assistance.

What if I need roadside assistance during my rental?

MYUTE Rentals offers roadside assistance for any mechanical faults that may occur during the rental (during business hours only).

For incidents where the hirer is responsible - If you have flat tyre, lockout service, fuel delivery (if you run out of fuel) and jump starting your car if the battery is run flat.

If you require help for any of the above, a callout charge of $110 will apply (during business hours only).
